What is Immerzed [ɪˈmɜːst]?
“Immerzed” is derived from immersed – A term from the world of virtual reality. It describes the state in which users dive into a virtual environment so deeply that they forget everything else around them.
For us, however, “Immerzed” is more than just a term – it’s our philosophy.
The name also stands for “immersive education” – and that is exactly what we develop: interactive, realistic learning experiences that not only impart knowledge but also make it tangible and applicable.
We believe that hands-on education in a safe, digital environment is crucial for better preparing people for real-world challenges – whether in emergency medical services, medicine, or other fields where every decision counts.
Our History
Immerzed began as a student project during the winter semester of 2022–23, when our founders – Frithjof Meinke, Jasper Ollmann, and Maurice Dietrich – set out to solve a problem that Frithjof had already encountered during his training as a paramedic: practical training in emergency medicine is often not very immersive, requires a great deal of preparation, and is labor-intensive.
In April 2023, the three founders established Immerzed GmbH. Even in the early stages, the company secured its first pilot clients, the DRK-Rettungschule in Lübeck and the Johanniter-Akademie Nord in Rostock – who actively participated in the development of VRescue.
Over the following months, the product evolved into a flexible VR training platform – featuring customized case studies and an adaptive feedback system. In 2024, VRescue was honored with the Next Reality Award in the Education category, a milestone that also brought the solution’s potential to the public’s attention.
